MUSINGS:

How does your garden grow?  We are constantly birthing and nurturing various aspects of our lives – relationships, vocational aspirations, personal growth, and indeed, actual gardens.  As I watch this season come out of hibernation, I am reflecting on the varied gardens I am growing, how I am cultivating them, and what they are teaching me.

 

Since my earth garden is tended more by my Mom whose talent in this area is much greater than mine, I am nurturing the gardens of my personal and professional development, my son (now 8.5 months!), and my relationships.  They all require the same basic principles and yield similar lessons that can be applied to any aspect of life:

 

Sunlight: Loving attention and inspiration

Soil: A safe and compassionate environment

Water: Consistent nurturance

Appreciation: Being in the present and enJOY

Weeding: Decluttering what no longer serves me in things and thoughts

Appreciation: Being in the present and enJOY (worth repeating…often)

 

I am also learning that these are not always easy to put into place at the same time.  Sometimes I am watering one of my gardens consistently and forgetting to appreciate it.  Or, I am appreciating, but don’t weed it for weeks, months even!  There are times when I am so focused on weeding out the things that get in the way I lose the appreciation, again, of why I am doing what I am doing in the first place…

 

Amidst my humanness and vulnerabilities, my gardens do grow, even blossom, though many times are at different stages of development.  One of the foundational principles and lessons for cultivating anything is the infusion of a very important ingredient – Love.  So, even when I don’t metaphorically water for days or weed for weeks, the love I hold for that which is important coaxes, reminds, and brings me around to the simple and profound caretaking necessary to grow, and enJOY, my life’s gardens.

What is a garden in your life, real or metaphorical, that needs some TLC?  Choose one and ask yourself to identify one simple action you can take to enhance this garden’s growth?  It may be to breathe (one of my favorites), finally drop off clothes at the Salvation Army, or give someone you love a really big hug.  Trust your guidance and bring some loving attention to one of your life’s gardens. 

 

EMBODY – Your Heart

It is easier to attend and give love when we give it to ourselves.  Take 1 minute right now and place your hands on your heart.  Breathe.  Feel the warmth of your hands, soften your face, and simply think of the word “love.”  Notice the sensations in your body and feel the ease that grows within.

What is your relationship to your body?  Are you realizing its full potential, or treating it like an object to get you from A to B?  Viewing your body as an asset that you care for, listen to, and use to communicate gives you an edge to manage your energy and enjoy your life!

In this introductory session, we explore various ways to enhance your relationship to your body: taking exquisite care of it beyond the basics of diet and exercise, developing listening skills to hear what it is saying, and utilizing it as a source of internal leadership.  Tap into your very own power source to increase energy, connect to inner wisdom, and build confidence to lead, accomplish goals, and get results in any area of life.

In this session, participants will:

1. Identify areas to increase their energy and self-care

2. Learn simple relaxation and energizing techniques

3. Develop body awareness to improve their listening skills and non-verbal communication

Reinventing Exercise: Teleclass Series

Tuesdays, May 5, 12, and 19 @ 7:30pm – 9:00pm EST

You know you “should” exercise.  What if there was a way to view this critical component of health and longevity as a positive activity that is inspiring, judgment-free, and integrated into your life?  There is, and you can do it on your terms.  Dispel your “but’s,” create ways to get your other one in shape, and learn to invite your body into the conversation.  Be supported as you reinvent exercise as a way to move your body, freshen up your activity options, and develop a plan that inspires you.

1. Transform their perspective on traditional exercise

 

2. Create a “Personal Preferences Plan”

 

3. Develop strategies to integrate inspiring movement into daily life

Breathing 101: Teleclass Series

Tuesdays, June 9, 16, and 23 @ 7:30pm – 9:00pm EST

Do you forget to breathe?  Are you a shallow breather?  Breathing is one of your primary energy sources, when you do so effectively.  Due a variety of reasons, it is not uncommon that you do not receive the full benefits of this inner resource to both calm and energize you.  This class will teach you the basics of how to breathe well and simple exercises to incorporate into daily life.  Maximizing your breath potential can relax, fuel, and nourish you. 

 

In this session, participants will:

 

1. Learn simple energizing and relaxing breathing techniques

 

2. Learn basic anatomy used for effective breathing

 

3. Develop strategies to incorporate breathing into daily life

How To Survive On The Dance Floor: The Basics & Beyond the Basics
